Berkeley Writers at Work with Walter Alvarez

Walter Alvarez, Professor of Geology, reads from his work and is interviewed about his writing. Alvarez's first book, "T-Rex and the Crater of Doom," recounts the history of the theory that an asteroid caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. Alvarez, who joined the Berkeley faculty in 1977, is the recipient of the Penrose Medal, the highest honor of the Geological Society of America and is a member of the National Academy of Sciences.
