Video shows alligators swimming, eating, striking prey, and protecting nest.

The Alligator is a crocodilian belonging to the genus Alligator of the family Alligatoridae. The two living alligator species are the American alligator, Alligator mississippiensis, and the Chinese alligator, Alligator sinensis.

The alligator is best known for having bone crushing bite. It is a 'living fossil from the age of reptiles that has survived on earth for 200 million years

Record alligators can grow to 14.5 feet long and weigh up to 1,032 pounds. The largest alligator recorded in Florida was almost 18 feet long. Some have lived for over 75 years.

Although alligators look slow and heavy, they are capable of very rapid motion as shown in the video.

The female alligator is maternal. She builds a nest and is very protective of it. This may be a reason why the alligator survived the dinosaur era.
