CNN's Anderson Cooper - one of the best television journalists - and his cameraman and producer were brutally attacked by a mob of Mubarak supporters on the streets of Cairo near the Egyptian museum. Cooper says he was punched at least ten times in the head as the army stood by and did nothing. The incident is a microcosm of the violence that has taken hold of Egypt since Mubarak unleashed his pro-government henchmen to violently squash the protests that have shut down the country and gripped the world for the past week.

Mubarak has vowed that he will not seek reelection, but the Egyptian opposition want his immediate exit from office. It is unclear now which side will be victorious.

  • to start with thanks for the vdu. i am from egypt.. and no i have nothing to do with the Muslim brotherhood. and you can sure be hit with out showing signs. it is well known fact. there are people that really can hit you all night and leave no mark. internal bleeding is just an example. but you can ask a doctor on that. during the 28th i got shoot with rubber did not know it tell the next day.

    what is happening is real.

    thanks for the post.

  • @bikeless02 You're welcome. It was wonderful to wake up today and see more people than ever before gathering around Tahir square. Stay safe and know the struggle you all are engaging in has great value.

  • Do you take the risk of having a power vacuum now, or do take the risk of what behind the scenes moves Mubarak may make in the next 7 months? Seriously though, who's disliking this video?

  • @bradistic True, those are the risks... I think people are disliking because they think I'm misleading by not showing the video right away, or because they don't like that Anderson got attacked... I dunno.

  • i have followed you for some time. do you have a fb page?

  • @cjm608 Yep. Search FB for The Daily Conversation... you should be able to find it that way :)

  • CIA cooper Wiki him

  • Not at all "brutal"

  • Cooper's nose looks like a vacuum cleaner attachment. It may have inflamed the Egyptians.

  • OMG. I never knew he got attacked! Poor guy! x

  • & this isdifference between the way these people view men and women. Here they see a man is being a attacked and amidst his cries for help some of the egyptian men come in to try to help him. When Lara Logan cried out for help More egyptian men came but only to join in... NONE came to actually help her. None out of those 200 for a full 20 minutes. She made it out because the mob accidentally dropped her on the lap of a woman and then a bunch of egyptian women surrounded her.

  • @Gromitdog1 Haha.

  • You are a total clueless fucking idiot, you and anderson cooper deserve each other, yeah Cooper is a regular Edward R Morrow, Give me a freaking break!
