As the camera comes on in the morning, we find K26 cleaning up the remains of a broken egg. K10 does a quick fly-by at 1:57, but he doesn't come to the nest until much later...not on this video.
You can read about the struggle to reintroduce America's symbol, the Bald Eagle, to the Channel Islands as well as watch this miracle of nature via live eagle-cam by going to http://www.iws.org and clicking first on 'interactive' and then choosing one of the 3 nests to view.... 2 are on Catalina Island and 1 on Santa Cruz Island or go to: http://z7.invisionfree.com/CHIL_EagleCAM/index.php?act=idx

We human's, through our emotions, will take longer to come to terms with the loss of this egg than the eagles appear to do. They have cleared away the remainder of the egg and are continuing to care for their remaining egg. We all have talons crossed they will be successful.
