The Asus Eee PC 901 is a huge step up from the 701 in terms of performance. With it's faster processor, greater storage, bigger screen, and better battery life, it feels like a Netbook that I can actually do work on comfortably. Although a bit larger than the 701, the 901 is just about right in size for mobile computing before veering into "real" laptop sizes like the new Asus 1000 series laptop with its 10" screen.
The standard 901 features:
- Windows XP operating system
- 8.9" screen (1024x600 resolution)
- 1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor
- 1 Gb RAM
- 12Gb Solid State Hard Drive (broken up between one 4Gb drive that the operating systems runs off of, and an 8 Gb drive for data storage)
- 802.11b/g WiFi
- 10/100 Fast Ethernet Port
- 3 USB 2.0 ports
- Headphone and Microphone jack
- Monitor Output Port
- Expandable SD Card Slot
- 1.3 megapixel integrated webcam
- Kensington Lock
- 6 cell Battery with small battery charger
- Neoprene Carry Case
- Listed Battery Life is 8 hours but my own tests have yielded 5-5.5 hours under heavy usage
This video was shot with a Canon G9 on loan.

how do i retrieve all of my files when the circuit board for the screen is shorted out? it does not view on an external screen. i value the files so i'd pay the extra expense, eventually, to fix the screen. i have an ASUS Ee pc. signed, monitorless
