Cool take on the song, but if you wanna get the chorus timed perfectly, try coming in at least a beat-ish earlier (Steve Miller can really swing it). It makes the descending melody really work over the chord changes. The first "ab" should come in at the last pulse of the V chord. Also, the melody is so much more effective when the V chord is actually the #9 (i.e. the "Jimi Hendrix chord") throughout the song. The song's quirky quality is diminished without that chord. Just my opinion.

I can't, that would be a tenor, I'm a soprano. A soprano with no vocal range.
