A video walkthrough of each boss in Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. Note: THERE IS SOUND. Just wait till Soma goes into the Boss Room.

Boss #14: Abaddon

Equipment:
Arms: Final Guard (Alastor imbued), Olrox Suit, Rune Ring or Satan Ring
Souls: Aguni, Death, Dead Crusuador
Level: 51

Boss Difficulty: 4/10

Strategy: Abaddon is embarassing, especially since he's the second to last boss. His health count is so low, this battle needn't take a minute. Now then, what I did in the beginning was use Death's soul and Aguni's soul to damage Abaddon while destroying his incoming locusts. When I ran out, I just attacked him head on with the Final Guard. That's all it took. It seems as if the game creators meant for you to waste time avoiding the locusts or something, either way, this battle is quick n' dirty. You don't have to go out and get Flame Demon or any soul thats good at burning things head on, but I went for Aguni just to humor the official guide makers. If your at a much lower level(like if your magically level 30 which is impossible), that is the only time you'd actually have trouble with this rather crude tactic. No Mind Ups or Potions are even required for this battle, and I walked away with a sizable amount of health. Death was useful for chopping up locusts as well as Abaddon, and Dead Crusuador weakened the attacks.

Abaddon's Moves:
Hop around: Abaddon doesn't care where your standing, he'll hop around anyway, he won't stop or quicken if he gets close to you, his path is random. It hurts if you touch him, but not much.
Wand Wave(U turn): If Abaddon waves his wand in a U shape, then a U shaped locust swarm will crash down, you can go crouch in a corner to avoid it, or use Medusa Head or Bat Company to jump in the middle of the U and wait it out.
Wand Wave(Bracket): The actual waving of the wand looks more like a U that's adjusted, but the end result is a bracket shaped locust cloud. Hard to avoid, but what you can do before it comes to you is burn it up with Aguni as soon as the locusts near you, then jump and you'll hurt Abaddon and dodge the move. If you don't feel like burning up bugs, use Bat Company or Medusa Head to hover in the opening.
Wand Wave(Waterfall): Abaddon's claim to fame, he puts his arms up and a shower of locusts rain on him, then in another U pattern, (only wider) it covers the screen. It's hard to use Bat Company or Medusa Head to hover in the middle, so crouch in a corner if you feel like dodging.
Wand Wave(Straight forward): Abaddon summons three seperate and small swarms, one at the low part of the screen, one in middle, and one in the top. Easiest to dodge, but only if you have Aguni, a VERY long and fast spear, or some manner of Flame Demon. I suppose you could turn into a Bat and fly in between, but you have to place yourself just right.
Wand Wave(Up, then U shape down): Hard to explain wand movement, but just think of it as the 'obscure movement' so you don't confuse it with any other ones. Abaddon summons a cloud of locusts to cover the screen, except in the area near the wall which he is opposed to facing. Hardest of his mvoes to dodge, I could not find a way to avoid this move. You can try avoiding by turning into a Bat BEFORE he finishes wand movement and hovering right at the boss door.

About Abaddon: A stronger version of Abaddon can be found in the Nest of Evil, a secret area in Portrait of Ruin. Also, Abaddon appears in the New Testamanet, as the locust who "can only bring suffering, not death" (I found out by looking, I think, on Castle wikia or some site like that, I do not own any site)

  • where do u get satans ring

  • I think it's in a hidden wall next to the throne room where Dario (or Aguni) is fought.

  • I have an easier way but its a little risky. you use the dead pirate soul and attack him from behind. Its pretty easy to get behind him.

  • Or you could just keep stabbing him and use strength boosters. That's a way to kill him without even using potions.

  • What is this song's name? It is FCKNG AWESOME!

  • Scarlet Battle Soul.

  • seals are so effin hard to do on a laptop

  • @starwarstheclonew100 go to the throne room before you fight Aguni, and hit the roof. you'll see a secret path. use bat combany to get up there, and you can find Satan's ring there. sorry for my bad English :]

  • Or just collect the nine souls of Buer soul, and that's it, you don't have to do anything in that battle coz that wheel of fire burns the locusts

  • I usually just spam the crap out of bosses with the Killer Clown 9/9 Sub-Weapon soul... It works quite well for enemies that aren't flying around like lunatics!

  • @sylux70 in THE ABSSY where you found frozen shade(must have all souls)

  • Instead of spending MP with aguni , use the frozen shadoe soul

  • best attack soul of the game imo : abaddon :D

  • The same principal applies in Dawn of Sorrow, just use a lv 9 Buer Soul

  • The boss fights aren't hard at wall, all bosses just have 'average' hp, and previsible moves... the bored part is the seals... i hate then...

  • does anyone know where u get the chaos ring?
