  • With all due respect yudedsy, This is a Gaita, a Venezuelan musical form from the region of Zulia (Maracaibo, specifically) and this one was written by the very well known composer Aquiles Baez. If you like, you can ask him yourself, he has a channel here on YouTube. Thanks for listening, Peace.

  • @yudedsy Gaita refers to a venezuelan musical genre usually written at 6 / 8, and not the instrument that is interpreted in some European countries if that's what you mean ...

  • The music world needs more flute. Today, bands only stick to some "popular" instruments and that's about it. More instruments mean more musical variety and flutes are a good first addition.

  • this is not Gaita! who said it?

  • @CIP73651 will be also interesting for you to check on "merengue venezolano" wich is a curious form in 5/8 you´ll find quite amusing!

  • @CIP73651 just passing by! this music is quite recent but not rated yet. some people says the first one is from 1663. Also the slaves (1800-1810) used to sing as a protest matter and evocation from africa.

what you can listen here is more influenced by french contredance ,the contemporary version of it if you like. you can also check out:

el cuarteto, ensamble gurrufio, raíces. they have developed the most flavory venezuelan contemporary music.

    regards!
