thinking about getting the gh1 gold kit from ebay. is this going to be the version i can hack?? and does the gold mean its better or worse?? or is it just a different color. how would i know if its version 1.3....etc?? before i buy it.

@flagrant2008 Ask the seller before you purchase to check the firmware if you are buying it from ebay.

I can't find one "VIDEO" tutorial that actually walks a person through the hack. I only find various textual walkthroughs that are different in little ways. Either, Panasonic has done something to my camera to prevent this, or I am missing something major. I am using an LX Series 32 GB Class 10 SDcard btw. I bought this camera because of the hack. I really need 1080p for the areas I'm going in China. What a waste of a trip without this hack. So thanks in advance for any assistance..

@MiwaEarth You probably have a camera with the new firmware, since Panasonic doesnt have that on their sit yet, Vitality hasnt been able to adapt the hack to the firmware. This is exact reason I dont have any videos on installing the hack, because these issues change from week to week. One last thing you can do to see if the firmware will load is completely shut down the camera. Insert the card with firmware, and after turning it on, press the play button. It should prompt you to load

I have  a question. I own a gh1 and in creativitymode it seems that when i set up an iso, to say 200 or 400, whenever start filming the screen automatically sets iso to auto. Have you any idea if this is normal?

i have just start recoding with the gh1 and when i play the footage on my computer it plays back weird rattling sound...

by any chance would you know y?

Thanks for the great tutorial. I just got one of the clearance(non-hackable) GH1s and this series of videos is still incredidibly valuable for getting the basic movie mode stuff setup correctly. Thumbs up for each video in the series! :-)
