A Crystal Flask: Severus Snape, Individuation and Transcendence
Logospilgrim. Saturday, April 30th, 4:30-pm to 5:00pm. Henri Nouwen once wrote, "When we become persons we become transparent to each other, and light can shine through us, God can speak through us. When we become persons who transcend the limitations of our individual characters, the God who is love can reveal himself in our midst and bind us into a community." Using material from a variety of sources, including Logospilgrim's own book of mystical essays, The Flawed Master: Lessons Professor Snape taught me, and C.G. Jung's writings, Logospilgrim will discuss the concept of "the true self," the process whereby Professor Snape attained full adulthood, that is, discovered and embodied his own true self, and illustrate how Snape became Self-aware and transcended duality.
