my band teachers teacher played with buddy on guitar and he told us that he was off the beat so buddy picked up the cymbal and threw it at him. he ducked jus in time because buddy could have killed him. but hes okay!

My band teacher was taught by the guy in his band who recorded this.

Buddy was a master who played almost every night for more than 60 years with the best musicians that ever lived. He gave this punk a chance to "make it" with the best big band in the world. Buddy helped many people and gave musicians chances where other people wouldn't. He expected them to do a professional job. But, unfortunatly he got some young punks who couldn't do the job. They just complained and whined. I'm glad Buddy talked like that to Them. They deserved it.

If I was in that band I would've blown my trumpet into his face and told him to stick his job up his cocaine infested arse!
Great drummer though, no denying it.

If you all like Buddy, also check out another deceased drummer, Louie Bellson origina l from Illinois. Not only was he a great drummer, he was a nice guy and was often invited to the White House he was so well liked!!! Can't such that for Buddy Bitch!!!!

@Newzchspy i agree hes a badass, not a fan of his band but he is very skilled.ive been checking out louie bellson what a drummer that dude is or was, dont know if hes dead or not.sorry if i came off rude or as too much of a fanboy for buddy but i recently descovered this man after 25 years of drumming myself and hes impacted me more than anybody else,my main influences prior to him were gene hoglan, sean rienart, dave lombardo, tim alexander, nick menza, stewart copeland, john densmore, bohnam, ect.

@bluefukingreene George Kollias is very very fast, NOT a fan BUT he is a great drummer!!!

@bluefukingreene @bluefukingreene He was the greatest drummer of "his time." and in his "genre." Definitive/conclusive statements never work. No one is questioning his supreme talent, BUT a statement that he is the greatest of all time is akin to saying that Michael Jordan was/is. History ain't over yet ..............................
.His snare work was unparalleled, agreed, BUT that's not all there is to "drumming." Its like saying, whats better, an apple or an orange? Both are fruits -
@Newzchspy i appreciate neal peart but come on dude, neal has 10 times the kit and still cant fuck with buddys snare work, never mind the feel, technique, and innovation, sounds like you hate a man that you never knew, and bringing neal peart to the table isnt a good argument at all.neal is great but he would even tell you that hes not on buddys level, theirs a clip of buddy playing louie bellsons 2 bass drums, bass drums only, you should hear that and then regroup with another guy cause neal wont do.

@Johhnycashmonkey I agree with you, BUT he was consistently an asshole and this wasnt the first time.............many of his bandmembers hated him................Did he care? Probably yes, BUT his ego was too big to apologize for that!!
After Buddy died, phone rings at his home. Lady answers. Gentleman asks - " Is Buddy there?" Lady says "No, I'm sorry - Buddy died." Gentlemen says "Thank you " and hangs up. Next day, phone rings again. Same question: " Is Buddy there?". Same answer
This goes on for a week. Finally the lady says. " I know you. you played in Buddy's band. You've called everyday asking for Buddy. Don't you understand? Buddy is dead!"
Gentlemen says: " Oh I understand. I just never get tired of hearing it"
