That gives a taste of just how dangerous the Mulsanne was. 250MPH and if anything breaks or goes wrong , you'll be 2 postcodes away when it all ends. Wow , those were the days. I've met Derek Bell , and a more charming man you will not meet. Don't stand too close though , you'll catch cold from the ice in his veins

I'll just go against the trend and say that the Mulsanne Straight is over glorified. If they had not added the chicances, they might have required to do something else, perhaps much more considerable changes to the track later.
The speeds might require more balls, but eventually, braking, turning and accelerating again requires more skill than just going full throttle all the time.
I'd rather complain about the loss of Dunlop Bridge in 2002.
