Ritmo en Accion Named a"Coming Up Taller" Recipient!

The Hyde Square Task Force is proud to announce that it is a Coming Up Taller Award winner for its Ritmo en Accion Afro-Latin and contemporary dance program. Youth and adult representatives of the program traveled to Washington, D.C. for a ceremony on Monday, January 28 where they accepted the award, presented at the White House by first lady Laura Bush. The Coming Up Taller award, given by the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, is the nation's highest honor for out of school arts and humanities programs, recognizing not just excellence in arts, but effectiveness at providing life-altering opportunities to youth who are coming of age in communities where they face limited choices.
