It's actually pronounced 'HOP-EEZ'; not to seem like a pompous ass, just for future references.

Watched all three videos, and these are the only ones you will ever need to watch to learn how to clean your revolver. Thank you very much from a new S and W 686 owner.

Oh cool! I had forgotten that you had this 686 P. I just purchased a 4" 686P (pick it up on Tuesday). Are you still enjoying it a couple of years later? Looks like a beautiful handgun.. Also, have you tried shooting any buffalo bore 180 gr. through it? I've got a backpacking trip coming up and I'll be bringing this as a small bear gun, so I'm curious about that load. Thanks for the great video!

Just wanted to say thanks. Made my 686 almost looking new! The leadaway cloth is amazing!

Great video. Thanks very much. My favorite cloth is hoppes quick clean. Not sure if it's the same stuff as your cloth. but i works great.

@xeotech1 It's a tough handgun. You're not trying to do live surgery on an earthworm. It's a stainless steel weapon that will fire after it's dropped on concrete or abused in many different ways. It's a tool, Cleanliness i important, but treating it like it's a baby chick on life support is ridiculous.

I tend to stay away from any abrasive (even micro-abrasive) products. A nylon brush may help but you are scratching the metal on a microscopic level. Also... it looks like you're being very careless when cleaning this gun... banging the nylon brush around... i saw you stick that mop down the barrel not being EXTREMELY careful.. you can scratch the inside of the barrel with that metal tip on the mop! GO SLOWLY AND BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL!

Wow, thank you so much for the Birchwood Casey Lead-removing cloth tip. We bought a 686 with a 3" barrel recently and just couldn't get the face of the cylinder clean without scrubbing with a brass brush. Thanks for the tip! Happy Shooting.

Hi there i have seen another vid of a 686 7 shot here on utube but his cylinder did not have the grooves on the outer cylinder body and your does? would it be hard to reconfigure a 6 shot 686 to a 7 shot ? please tell me details when u can :)
I have to agree with a previous post, why would you put a DIRTY brush back into the bottle of cleaner? Is that bottle not now contaminated?
If I and the previous poster are wrong please let me/us know.

@2black2day Yes, putting the dirty brush back into the cleaner is not the smartest thing I have ever done, but I honestly think the cleaner is fine as long as I don't do it often. I don't recommend doing it either, thank you for pointing this out.

Not a very good idea to put the dirty swab back into the bottle!!
