Sponsor: http://SakalCAI.com - ATA Airlines files for bankruptcy and shuts down leaving passengers stranded despite taxpayer bailout. However: They only received millions, not billions. I accidentally said "billions" in the report. My apologies. Much of what ATA received was in the form of loans and came from state govt. Obviously no company should be getting any bailout money from any government, but I wonder if United and AA got vastly more (as a de-facto reward for letting their planes be used as missiles)!

  • Thanks for the responses. I apologies for what appear to be two errors. By way of retraction, ATA only received millions, not billions, in bailouts. I accidentally said "billions" in the report and got the state of incorporation wrong (though I don't believe that was a statement of fact on my part but of recollection). Actually I'm kind of surprised anyone even watched this video.

  • i'd rather see clinton and obama put away, but this will do!

  • i may not charge them if that is the case. or in the future i might make such ads less expensive. have to listen to it. we are still experimenting, but we need a way for me to phone in time sensitive reports from the scene of events.

  • And I suck with English when I said applet I ment soppost

  • The last flight was too Hawaii Maui and I was on that flight the company went bankrupt wile we were in the air and I lover ata so we were stranded in Maui for two week we were applet to take ata back but we got our money back and got free tickets from american airlines lol I got to miss slot of school

  • I lost my job when ATA closed i hope you lose your job someday if you even work. We never had an incident with any of our aircraft in our history whether the maintenance was done here or overseas.

  • Americans have stood by its airlines since the beginning . When maint. operations were shut down and moved overseas we were told that is was necessary for the survival of the corporation . We were told this over and over and over . Maint. operation after maint. operation was shut down and moved to Mexico , Central America and South America . Im tired of being loyal to corporations that screw over Americans for a buck . LET THEM GO BANKRUPT !

Great maint. south of the border too . Right.....

  • You still won't print the truth. ATA recieved a loan from the NTSB not a bailout which was repaid when we were aquired by Matlin Patterson.

  • What? be more specific when you said "this will do"

  • that was a stupid thing to say. Are you always so one-track minded?

  • You need to get your facts a little more in line before shooting off your big mouth...really...BILLIONS of dollars in payouts paid to ATA? Too bad that is not true...that would have kept us in business for at least another 15 years. Also, we were based in Indiana...not Illinois. How much research would it have taken to at least post an accurate commentary? Hard to take you seriously when you don't even have the most basic facts.
