In this episode of Setting Up Your Own Home Studio, I talk ask what you (the viewer) wants to know, so please a video response, or a text response. Another topic I discuss is about three new purchases that I plan to buy, them being: the Alesis MultiMix 8USB Mixer with USB and DSP, ProTools M-Powered 8, and Apple Logic Studio 9 DAW Software. If you guys could educate me on these three items, it would be greatly appreciated.

  • hey man i was wondering if you could help me. im running logic pro 9 with an m audio fast track and i was wondering what i had to set the input/outputs to to get the mix to have vocals and music coming out of both speakers. i know im noob for not knowing how but its really frustrating.

oh and by the way....nice dog.

  • Thanks, the dogs name is Lesslie, it's my sisters... But I'm not sure what your asking, well, as far as vocals you need to make sure if your using a Condenser mic, make sure Phantom Power is on. I need more info about what your hooking your speakers/monitors up to. Plus, I'll be continuing both the Setting Up Your Own Home Studio and FreeStyle series tomorrow, so be sure to check out both videos tomorrow. :-)

  • yo why dont u just get propellerhead record since u use reason. mine is coming in 2mrw n i thnk its almost on par with pro tool and will cost alot cheaper.

  • I'm more familiar with Pro Tools than Record, so I'm getting it anyway; plus, its industry standard.

  • I am new to this whole studio thing so my question is what cables do u need to hook this all up ?

  • Well, you'll probably need at least 2 MIDI Cables, Buy at least 2 XLR Cables, and also look into RCA cables, sometimes you'll need them. But it all depends on the music equipment that you purchase/have so if you can give me more info, I will be able to give you better info on what to buy.

  • I'm planin on buying the mpk25, first time user what will I need for a basic setup ,ur help is very appriciated

  • whats your email

  • Your studio is gravy... Gotta set your midi keyboard in front of your monitors though... Or at least set the monitors towards you when you're playing some music.

  • are studio speakers really necessary? i have a laptop and have it connected to a panasonic mini stereo system and it sounds good, especially when i play low bass notes the sub that it comes with plays em really clear n loud.

  • You are gonna want to use Logic Studio, cause it is an industry standard in itself when you buy Pro Tools it is not industry standard until you get Pro Tools HD and to do that you need to spend about $10,000 for the equipment for it to work so go with Logic until you start working in a professional recording studio then they will probably have Pro Tools there

  • fuck dat juss use mixcraft lmao
