It is in the Autism spectrium, but is concidered a lesser form of it. I am not sure why children 3+ are automatically diagnosid with this.

Some children need to "feel" them selves. My nephew is 5 and has autism, sometimes when he needs to re-group hiself you have to "hug" him, and kinda squeeze his arms and legs. Many autistic children are one way or the other.

I guess it is Conduct Disorder or Oppositional Defiant Disorder that is prevalent among people who are grown who have Anti-Social Personality disorder. However, it doesn't mean that if someone is diagnosed in youth that they will become ASPD. Thanks LucyShy! :)

2 of my nephews would not have talked at all w/o an intensive behavior modification program. 1 learned 2 talk only when spoken 2 at 6 yrs old, then went through a time when all he did was request, & finally he can say things at 12 like "Were not kids anymore."

Each of these stages required specific programming though as he would not have progressed through them by maturation.

Behavior modification is how all people learn realar. Those who fail to learn need behavior modification with a focus and highly trained professionals, but they benefit from it.

Anyone, who can learn to talk, but doesn't because no one taught them did not benefit from others optimally.

No, I'm insinuating that autism in the past was a disabling disability and that behaviorism was able to take those children and make them indistinguishable. This is true by historical research in those who were severely autistic. I don't know anything about you and insinuated nothing about you.

My family did not talk without intensive intervention and now they are very typical.

What you need to know is that the Surgeon General has stated the only scientifically proven intervention for autism is ABA or behavior modification. You are correct that aversives have been removed from most programs that are behavioral, but not all. To reinforce is to strengthen a behavior and so other treatments that work are because they condition (a behavioral principle).
