add a little whiplash in front of 100,000 LA metal heads with stupid promoters who think that chairs should be on the floor and a riot almost breaks out. Chairs and barricades go a flyin!!!

My first big concert. When Metallica hit the stage everybody from the top came running down, the security guards had zero chance... it was incredible... and f'n hot.

@sadpancake yeah same thing happened in SF too. Thing is since we had the best promoter in the world - Bill Graham in the bay area he understood that heavy rock concerts will have general admission no chairs on the floor. Avoids problems ya know.

i have also searched for years to show my friends some of this mayhem. I was in the worst nose bleed spot, clear at the top at the rear and got a free upgrade. Seeing this is awesome, being there was undescribable during this moment. I tell my 16 year old about this often. Thanks for the walk back down memory lane.

OMFG!! WHERE THE HELL DID YOU GET THIS!!!! I have searched and searched. I Was heading for front row and they stopped Metallica. I made it to like 5th row and metal barricades were coming over my head while LAPD copters were flying overhead. I've seen Metallica 14 times and this was one of the best :)

I was there!! I had seats in the band when the rush to get down on the floor!! I was hit by a cop he asked me where I was going? I said to the front fucker!! That day to got drunk with living color in the parking lot!! Dam what a great day!!

It has been stated by the band M that this was there most exciting concert that they Ever played. They were still quite young at this point. To have been there and know this concert freaked them out is awesome.

Attended wih four navy friends from San Diego. Tripped my ass off all day into the next. The concert was chaos totally start to finish. Hot as blazes fights everywhere constantly. WOW.

WOW!! I'm so glad I found this. I was at this concert, on the floor, 25th row, on Kirks side. The floor came was getting bad, but when they pulled the plug on Metallica... HOLY CRAP! The place came unglued. And, It was cool to see the band just hanging on the drum riser. I brought my girlfriend and she hated Metallica... she was cowering and wanted to leave. Maybe I should have... but this was METAL HISTORY!!!

cant believe anyone got this on tape "wow" i made it from the nose bleeds to the stage.people poured down the stairs like water, security gone!!! police fired tear gas from a helicopter that didnt do shit. lost my cousin in the crowd, what a day this turned out to be. thanks for posting it.
