She was also the Mayoress, Cora Hoover Hooper, in the original production of Sondheim's "Anyone Can Whistle".... 1964. She's been in Mame twice, Gypsy, King and I, and numerous other musical productions...

Indeed Angela Lansbury is an excellent singer: on Broadway she created the role of Mrs. Lovett in Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd!

omg i laughed my ass offf watching this vid! i love this song! hey, do you know where i can find the instrumental version of this song? i wanna sing it for an event, but it's in two days time! i hope you see this soon and thanks in advance!

@louswire "'somewhere between forty, and death."
It's the pregnant pause afterwards that really makes it. I remember listening to this 25 years ago, while jogging with my Walkman. I'd stop to hear what came next... even though I'd heard the "nothing audible" dozens of times before.
It's all in the looks you imagine between them.

If I kept my hair like your's I'd be bald.

This is really excellent!
Very rarely have I seen two people sing(lip sych) so well, and really get into the characters.
Also you play it (almost) straight, and don't camp it up too much which adds to the overall excellence of the performance.
I would willingly buy a DVD of your musical performances.
I look forward to seeing more!

The song is from the Broadway Cast recording of "Mame" written by Jerry Herman from 1966. It stars Angela Lansbury and Bea Arthur. Great Cast recording !

Thanks very much. It was just done as a bit of fun for someones party. I don't think we really intend to make a career out of it-but much appreciated anyway!
