  • These are regulation stones. As the relation between stone and ice vs stone and synthetic ice, is completely different, sweeping will have no effect.

  • I also suspect that stones won't travel as far on that synthetic surface, as compared to real ice because when we prepare curling ice, we "pebble" it with little water droplets. That means the stone is in contact with less ice, and there is less friction. When you curl on flat ice, without a pebble, it's actually VERY difficult to get the stone the full length of the ice. So in order to make it comparable, you would probably want to curl on synthetic ice with less distance between the houses.

  • I guess sweeping won't do much though
