yes, the aussie version is definetely the best! i have this video at home and ive almost worn it out from watching it so much! i love this ballet - one of my all time favourites. and i dont think anyone could do better than lisa pavane and colin peasly. they rock!!

If possible at all, where might I find the whole ballet online? I need to learn Swanilda from the Australian ballet's production, but can't seem to find it anywhere...any help at all, even small scenes, is so appreciated! <3

lisa pavane is exquisite! even though dancers today may have 'better' technique, a lot of artistry has been lost. her whole performance as swanilda was as near perfect as you can get. i encourage anybody who hasn't seen the full production to definitely watch it!

I totally agree. I have it on DVD and have watched it coutless times. I love the portrayal of the doll "Coppelia" in the first act. A breathtaking and well executed performance. A1 production!

I love how she actually dances like a doll.

All the other versions I've seen were like "I know I'm Swanhilda, who knows she's acting like Coppelia. Oh my, I am a doll. Look at me dance" and so on. It's so machanic. But she dances like an actual DOLL.

This IS a beautiful production! the costumes are divine too. Anyone know where/if we can hire these- or similar? need for a small New Zealand production.
