  • Do you have any issues with the IS on your lens? I just got mine in the mail and it has a very noticeable "clunk" every time the IS engages and disengages. I is surprisingly loud on my lens but the image quality is amazing.

  • @wilsocn

My lens has this "clunk" too and a rattle during the IS. But this is a normal event. You don't have to worry about it. You will love this lens! :)

  • is this the f/4.5-5.6? It looks like a great lens.

  • @Cheezwizhi9

yeah it is. i love this lens :)

  • Is the tripod sturdy? I was thinking of buying one for video use with my 7D. Cheers Dan

  • @DanDanFinalFixation

Since i posted this video I also have a 7D. Although the camera with the 100-400 is quite heavy the tripod (+ball head) has no problem with it. It also stands very stable on the ground but at night shots with some winds and the tripod fully extendet it's difficult to get sharp images. (but I think every tripod has to struggle with wind)

My body heigh is about 5’9’’ and with the tripot fully extendet my eye is perfektly at the viewfinder.

All in all it's a very nice tripod

  • @Kletterschuh Thanks for the reply! I wont worry about it then since a lot of people with this lens note the IS sound. Previously I had the 75-300mm 'kit lens' and this is such a big step up. Cant wait to take the camera out this weekend and give it a real test.

  • @Veldranian Mine was 1444.00 through B&H. Normally I believe they are around 1600 when not on sale.

  • Wow. What a Brest of a lens. How much did that cost you?
