What I'm wondering is what he has in mind for the approach to achieve AI.

Is he thinking of advances in our understanding of artificial neural networks or the brute force method of reverse engineering the brain.

I don't think we have a proper solution to mimicking cognition. It's truly debatable if the day we actually get this solution will be before the day we achieve the computing power of quantum computers.

I am not very much acquainted with this '1-2-3 point cycling' mataphor! I have just started watching Kaku's vids. Return to point 1 is not an involution but a mode of doing things, a certain methodological recurrent pattern, is that it?

To tell the truth, taking our individual and global human pathos as evident, I think technology is one of the side-effects of Science! No kidding!, I know you're just being fun... My faith, given the possibilities of sane science, aligns smoothly with Kaku's, so I strongly believe we are kind of entering Galactic I Scientific Phase. Now, if that is somewhat going back to point 1, even though in a higher level, than, yes, you haven't missed the target!

this concept applies to not just technology but to other things, but back to the topic, My opinion is that technology is to help the human being, not to harm the human being. Soon we will go back to point one and we will find a balance between technology and nature.

I believe that technology is like a train without a destination and many of us are riding it and are UNAWARE of it. Soon technology will take over some people's lives and separate them from nature :our origin. It can be prevented but it will take a great amout of reasoning. Science is a branch of technology, but in general we are loosing the true meaning of technology, that is to conserve life, not to destroy it with guns and atomic bombs etc.

Thanks for your thoughts! Isn't it curious that technology kind of overflows from the laws of nature?

yea...you know...there is something that ive been thinkin about for the last few months. It is something that i call "The 1-2-1 law" hehe yea uh...this concept is based on the idea of starting in point 1, going to point 2 and then going back to point 1 again. For example, in technology, At the beggining, we had no tech (point 1), then we started developing tech (point 2, we are in this point) and then we are gonna go bak to point 1 again. it can also be "unconscious, denial, consious"

That is cruel. Emotions are one of the qualities that makes us human and if these machines develop emotions they should have the right to live. If they develop the ability to have visions, they also have the ability to develop the fuel (emotion) needed to achieve what they desire. Putting a chip in the machines and torturing them when they have visions would be like telling a child to shut up when he says" I wish to go to Disney".

The movie "Matrix" is also a good example of the possible outcomes of Artificial Intelligence. By experimenting with AI we could became Dr Frankenstein and create something we cannot control. I believe one of the main messages of that movie was to warn us of the possible outcomes of experimenting with AI. I also believe that we are begging to abuse of the benefits of technology and are unaware of it.

A chip? What will keep those intelligent beings from circumventing that?
