This is a different pattern from the Prayer Shawl Companion book. The shawl is knit lengthwise - I cast on 200 stitches. The pattern is knit 3 rows, purl 3 rows. I'm using two colors to keep my interest!! I'm liking it and hope you enjoy!

  • The prayer shawl ministries are here in Grafton WV.

I am a United Methodist, that met with Pastor Jaq, my cousins minister at the Lutheran/Episcopal here in town.

We both love spinning and knitting. This was a chance meeting, that has sprung into The Grafton Prayer Shawl ministries. We actually have a day group and an evening group for the ladies that have 8am-4pm jobs. It is a blessing to be able to use your skills to pray for those in need. Thank you for giving your video.

  • @SusanShriverHowell That is awesome that you actually have two groups! When we first started our ministry, if we received a request, we would have to see who was closest to finishing a shawl! Now we have quite a supply of shawls and those who request one can choose one. It's such a wonderful ministry and brings such love and comfort to those who receive them. Blessings on you and your group!

  • We have started a prayer shawl group here, and it is always good to see how someone else has used the patterns. :) Thank you for sharing. \O/

  • @SusanShriverHowell Where is "here"? I'm always interested to know where Prayer Shawl Ministries have started. I've been thinking of making a new video with some other shawl patterns.... we found we needed some deviation from the standard K3, P3 pattern.

  • What size or how long are those circular needles. Looks great.

  • I'm using size 10 needles and they're 29" long. Almost done....!!!!!

    Thank you!

  • How many stitches did you start with what size 10 needles ? I guess you started with at least 100 stitches to make 29 inch ?? It is pretty.

  • I love the look of the quilt under the shawl too.

  • I'm crocheting one like it. A crocheted

    version of the same shawl.
