I like Bill Maher for the most part, but his constant 'Bush is an idiot' jokes really did get tiresome, even if I didn't much like GWB

Hitchens was so right about them being easy 'dumb person' jokes that appealed to a very cheap and unintelligent mentality

I often find myself agreeing with many of the points Maher makes, but I think its very clear that his own integrity is at least partially suspect. Its very telling that he likes to end his show with a monologue that his guests are forced to sit and listen to without being able to comment on or challenge. He just can't handle not having the final word.

Kudos to Hitchens for being unafraid to speak his mind in the face of yes-men sheep that boo him for expressing a different opinion. I miss him.

These are both guys I respect and look-up to. If I am to watch a debate or disagreement, I'd much rather it's between two intelligent guys who know what they're talking about and having a rational debate based on real-world facts, than two people arguing about whether evolution is real or not. I believe Hitchens won this one, but respect to them both. This is how we really learn - from the best.
