Two 'joaks' from John Walsh's 3rd collection of dance tunes (pub c 1730). I first heard these played by John Kirkpatrick and Sue Harris many years ago. I have not heard anyone else play them so I thought it time for a revival. White joak was used as a tune for more than one song in the stage shows of the c18th. I like the key change (D to F) and the 'long' B music. a more familiar tune is Black Joak, which is used both as a Morris tune and military march.
