I agree and kind of blanket statement all fighters like that: Cro Cop, Randleman. even Rampage. They're sort of stuck in their ways. I don't see how as a professional fighter one refuses to learn all aspects of the game. Bas Rutten came in as only a striker. He hated losing via submission so he focused intensely on the ground game. He then won 23 fights in a row and retired as UFC champ. That's a professional fighter. Being stubborn only hurts a fighter's record, and hence their career.

And yea, "getting hit" isn't a small deal. "Getting hit" can cost you the fight. So I'd say most people are afraid of "getting hit." Hence all the training in boxing defense etc. learn 2 mma b4 u post brah

His tentativeness does seem to impede the natural flow you see in more comfortable, relaxed fighters. Lots of people have that though, its probably the hardest thing to get over. Its one thing to be able to fight, another to be able to perform under tremendous pressure.

melvins biggest weakness is his grappling game he has none almost all his losses are by sub

Before I used to Fight like Melvin, depending only on my strikes, but later on changed to strikes and grappling, now I come up with my on ways in grappling to better myself in any situation that deals with grappling, including improving those moves and techniques that have learned from the Dojo :)

Santino isn't scared to get hit, he is just smart and chooses not to get hit. Plus his specialty is BJJ which is how he won. SOUTHWEST MMA ftw!
