The radio is user friendly and chock full of features for such a small rig.

And it's POWERFUL too. It puts out 50 watts on 70cm. I don't even see base stations that put out that much on 70cm.

I am giving this radio a 5 out of 5 based on price, features and quality.

This is a solid performer, no problems out of the box. And the chassis is built like a tank.

All functions can be controlled from the mic, which I like.

  • What kind of power supply do you use for this unit at home? I am thinking of getting this as my base station for the time being. Also what kind of antenna do you have?

  • It does sound like a Cummins in the background. I am actually looking at this radio for my Dodge Ram w/ a Cummins in it. I got a Diamond 3db/5.5db antenna and a side hood mount for it. I think this radio would be perfect for it.

  • Is that a Cummins diesel I hear in the background?

looking at an Icom 208H or 207H for my first mobile

    Good video!
