@seancoppinger ...but I've never heard the Iron Maiden tapes, so it might be different.

@seancoppinger If you've been listening to the tapes all these years, you might be disapointed to find that CDs are always slower than tapes and sometimes have lesser sound quality even though tapes have that slight hissing noise (that noise never bothered me). That happened to me when I replaced my Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne tapes. The problem with tapes is that they get worn out and start to have sound drop-outs and that swirling effect.
