  • @UltimateWheelman I don't say that you're not right, we only have different views on the same thing :)

The real problem with these safety measures is that they are focused on the cars, my opinion is that they have to focus more on the tracks.......there are some tracks out there with lots of run-off space and are very forgiving if a driver makes a mistake, but there are some tracks that can still kill you if you brake at the wrong point (a thing that can happen often)

  • @Khazar01 Engine power doesn't matter. As long as cornering speeds are in check, straight-line speed are not important. The cars were slower on grooved tires than they would've been on slicks, which was the whole point. The only reason F1 went back to slicks was because Bridgestone became the sole tire supplier, and they were able to make "control" slicks to manage cornering speeds. The only reason F1 is going to turbocharged V6's is to be "green", not to slow the cars down.

  • @UltimateWheelman Well less grip should also go with less engine power, but in the case of F1 it didn't, the engines became more powerful so you can't say that the car itself is actually slower. It's simply not logical to try to slow down a fast car by making it dangerous at taking corners. This logic is supported by the fact that they have returned to full slick tires and using less powerful engines instead (they turned from V10 to V6)
