@XxSpatsaAddictxX Normal mode is for average use. Advanced is for people who leave their PS3's on folding. It basically runs larger WU's for more points but takes longer to finish (Usually a couple of days) and have tighter deadlines. If you don't leave your PS3 on, stick with the normal mode.
