Touch-based interactions with web social networks

We present a service to provide an initial basic enhancement of
Web-based social networks with real and physical social experiences.
Simple real-world gestures made with NFC enabled phones are transformed
into virtual social actions and/or events to be stored and shared in
digital spaces considered by millions of people as "universal social
repositories". We have designed and implemented a J2ME software
application supporting such a service for Facebook and successfully
carried out initial experiments on real NFC mobile phones.
