that was and is a wonderful show. i felt like i wanted to watch something from my child hood and i miss this show.

Actually, John Costa served as the pianist on the show and was the musical director until he died in 1996. Fred COULD play the piano, and often did on the show, but John Costa played the opening theme, as well as the background music for the show.
