If you would like to see this man's name on the ballot in November, now would be a hell of a good time to donate to his campaign to help him win the Libertarian nomination. The corporations sure aren't gonna do it for you. Hint, hint:

  • Mike lost my support when he decided to ally himself with the Libertarians. What was he thinking? What happened to his solid progressive principles?

When Mike allied himself with that bunch, it demonstrated to me (sadly) that he is just an attention-seeker looking for one last hurrah.

  • Well they didn't go away. He had several Libertarian supporters as a Democrat. He attempted to bring sanity to the party. He appealed to them vote as Americans first ahead of personal interpretations of Libertarian ideology. His economic principles are grounded in binary economics which is criticized as being both far left and far right depending on the account. Simply he is a man without a party and I think he has credibility as a libertarian in any meaningful use of the word.

  • Don't worry. He's out of politics for good now. His life is devoted to the cause of the National Initiative for Democracy. He attempted to convince two political parties to adopt it in their platform. He failed on both accounts. He ran to further the cause of direct democracy in America and fell short when compared to a "great" like Ron Paul. Maybe it was a waste. It wasn't for me and made a difference in my life. I suppose this is a fringe interpretation given the course of events.

  • Correction:

His electoral career is over. He's still a political activist which may still annoy you from time to time.

  • That is a useful narrative and a great way to make sense of the bizarre sacrifices he made throughout his career. You will find yourself in good company with many folks in mainstream media. If it makes you feel better, then go for it.
