@stunner8000 : 1st off it was made back in 2006 (over 5 years ago) I didn't have a mic back then, 2nd it doesn't say it's a tutorial, just a recording of me painting a quick gun concept, 3rd I use the selection tools, the airbrush with dark and light colours and some basic cloning...hardly rocket science.

just out of curiosity what texture did you use for the gun because I'm working on a similar project & really need to find some good quality metal textures that can be used for firearms. Any info & help'd be appreciated. Thanks!

very nice job for a 2D image, nice work!

Holy crap, this was awesome. Can you make a more slower and speaking tutorial of how you did this id really like to learn how. That and just watching doesn't really do it for me =/

@3DGameResources It DOES say it's a tutorial, in the description of the video.

Question. The barrel of the gun at around :57 was that overlayed? Or like a reverse overlay or something. In practicing my own, I wondered if I just needed another layer, but that didn't seem to help. It just shaded over what already existed.

i will create this in real life
When working for games, (something that I've actually tried once) I've noticed that its the small details that make guns really come to life. My main problem with this gun is, the bullet whole is huge for such a small clip sizeits as if its shooting Shotgun slugs.

it was a simple 10 minute sketch to show a few techniques, it wasn't intended as a blueprint, but thanks for your feedback!

more then 10 minutes because parts are cut out + its sped up

A little bit was chopped out in the middle to make it fit the 10 min limit but its not sped up...

must get annoying, painting with an hourglass icon all the time! :-P
Cool texture btw!

The hourglass was added by the recording software I used at the time...I personally couldn't see it whilst painting!
