Baxter sang on every Steely Dan track. He sang only occasionally with the Doobies.

I know what he means. I heared Michael Brecker live in the early 90's. He had this drummer that you didn't notice at first. Then it was like, "Wait a second. That guy is giving firm intelligent creative support to the solo at every turn!"
