Yeah this confused me too at first. But remember that the only thing you're looking for is the moon and sun stones. Sun stone is on the desk in nightmare world and the moon stone is in a glass case in the ghost world. And you can't get through the door to the balconies unless you're in nightmare world. It's not that hard really. Sun- nightmare. Moon- Ghost door to balcony- nightmare.
