My 22 yr old son died last Nov after 10 years on Ritalin a schedule 2 amphetamine just like Adderall. Go to the NIDA National Institute of Drug Abuse and learn how new technology brain imaging is showing how these drugs damage the brain to the point you cannot say know. When you become addicted get in a good treatment that is 90 days or longer. Listen to the HBO documentary Addiction on HBO.com. The As are not worth it. My son was on the Deans list before he took up to 32 (20mg) in a day. RIP

To be fair I think the phrase all medicines are drugs, but not all drugs are medicines is the factor. However I think there is a great chance that coke, cannabis, lsd could actually improve our modern day children in a medical environment.

Eg.. what do you do with an angry, hyper-active child who tries to beat his own pathetic father? Well cannabis sure would slow him down a touch and put a smile back on his face. Coke- Laziness, LSD- the mentally unstimulated computer geeks

In the governments view the pharmaceutical drug dealer shouldn't have competition from the the 'street' drug dealer. Ritalin and cocaine are just two sides of the same coin.
