I think you will find in British law if you have signed a contract to stay / rent / live in a property you can not get out of that contract. If you leave you will loose your deposit or be forced to pay for duration of the contract.

The students did not see the extent of the damage and poor conditions when the property was made available to them.

Snobby southern cunts, maybe it'll do them good to learn how to start life like this and remove themselves from their snooty mothers teet. They should be grateful for what they have. I've seen much worse accommodation and i would imagine there are many millions of people far worse off, unable to have the opportunities most British students so dismissively waste.

Well a lot of the time it's hard to get a contract that fits in with your academic life (like a full 12 month contract) So you get landlords that specialize in dealing with students, and they nearly all fuck you over in one way or another. Getting a third rate service is the norm, and most students let them get away with it because we normally don't have a choice

im glad my student house isnt anything like that, though previous tenants and landlords are really crap at making sure the house is liveable when people move out, though we were lucky enough not to have any stationery problems (e.g. damp, etc), the amount of cleaning i had to do when i moved in was stupid
