  • thats my dad on the fiddle!

  • How lucky you are to have such a talent! Do you play?

  • The correct thing to say would be Little Beggar Man (Aka red haired boy) since Little Beggarman is the original, the americans stole it and changed the name. Just thought I'd let ya know...

  • Just to add to the confusion factor, I think that I have also heard it called "Sailor's Hornpipe".

  • I think that is is a medley, the only one that I could put a name to was Red Haired Boy (at leas that is what it was called when I learned it.)

Whatever you want to name it, it is a pretty good piece!

  • Got any video of the Bromberg band with Dick Fegy? What a sweet player. I'd love to see some video of him in his prime.

  • I don't know of any other Bromberg videos.

  • hi, I used to be davids photographer on the west coast. I knew your dad from the time he joined. Tell him Sally said hi OK? I hope he's doing well, I see that he's still playing with David, he is the nicest guy and had some hard shoes to fill, cause he took George Kindlers place after he died in the motorcycle accident. But everyone loved Jeff right from the start!

  • The medley begins with "Leather Britches"; "Red Haired Boy" is second; not sure about the third song ("Temperance Reel"?); I've heard the fourth before but can't name it.

Didn't read all the prior posts. Perhaps all the songs were already identified.

  • YOu guys are the BOMB BB Mandolin

  • thanks, I love the trivia -- want to learn all there is to know! Som many folk tunes ahve different titles. Didn't know about this one.

  • Your dad kicks butt! Ahh, bluegrass is like heaven.

  • Oh yes!! Reminds me of my days jammin' with Zen Dixie in Atlanta. Where are the Zen boys now?!

  • Your Dad is awesome. Did he play with DB in the late '70s? If he did, I probably saw him at Vanderbilt University in Nashville around '78. He's a fine musician!

  • The set is Yankees Revenge from David's Midnite on the Water Album - the tunes JSgantt has the tunes correct and the last one is Drowsy Maggie.
