    Alabama song is a Brecht original the Doors also played .... you can find the Lotte Lenya (his wife) original on youtube

    That was a Prussian thing that the artists in the 30's were taking the piss out of from the prior era.

    Think of it as Cabaret Punk. Punk accents in the 70's were strange too. It is a form of subversion.
