Occupy Detroit kicks off as hundreds march up Woodward
Kim Kozlowski/ The Detroit News

Detroit— Someone beat a drum. Then the chanting began as the grassroots group Occupy Detroit began marching up Woodward on Friday.

"Wall Street got bailed out. We got sold out," protesters chanted.

An estimated 500 people met outside the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center. They were heading to Grand Circus Park, with plans to occupy it indefinitely.
