I had the privilege to catch "Gatemouth" and his band live in NYC during the late 70's and he was a real down to earth gentleman with an amazing musical spirit...thanks for posting!!! Namaste...

I just this morning saw the Johnny Winter Guitar lesson video and he spoke very highly of Gate. There's a lot to Gate not many know. Check that video out. Gate's badder than I originally thought. Yeah, music drips off him indeed. Wish I had known of him earlier.

I love this man!!!! He was such a great player and human being. My favorite quote by him was "you have a brain use it". He was talking about doing what is natural to you as opposed to being a copy cat. Nobody can be you better than you. What a wonderful guitarist.

God bless his soul. It lives on with his great music.
