DJ Skirts are a LOT better, but if you've spent all your money, and you need something to get you buy until you can afford a nice DJ Skirts Facade, you can do this.

The boards are 2 foot x 4 foot boards, 1/4" thickness. Can be found at Home Depot or Lowes.

If you don't like cutting your own wood, just measure how tall you want your Facade before getting the wood, and both Home Depot and Lowes will cut it down to the size you need for your. Then you just have to get some contact cement, carpet, and some hinges, and away you go. Glue the carpet on OUTSIDE though, particularly if you use contact cement, it will stink up your house while it dries otherwise...

I'll be posting measurements later today, and probably add a few annotations to the video :)

  • If your area does not pay well for djing.. then why are you a dj!?

  • @luckymickey1: Because I love being a DJ. I love music, and it's a huge creative outlet. I do make money at it, but not enough to live off, hence I work a day job as well. I do spend money on decent gear, but I save it on stuff like this that I can build easy. Why are you a DJ? Just for the money? For me there are easier ways I could make extra money, but I love being a DJ, and that's why I do it.

  • Very good idea. This is more heavy duty than mine but none-the-less a great idea and simple to produce.

  • Thanks. I made another 2 panel section, and a single panel section, so I can accommodate a variety of table sizes now. I like your Facade design too, checked it out a while ago :) Lots of great ideas floating around :)

  • Nice Video!

  • Thanks all :) I want to pick up a professionally made one sometime, but this does well until such time :)

  • Nice video what type of carpet is that?

  • Good job, Sleeper! I like the 1/4" thickness, nice and lightweight, and there's really no need to go thicker and make it too heavy to load in and out easily. I used 1/4" on mine, and took the extra step of painting the bare wood surfaces black to match the cloth.

  • I used a piano hinge when I made my fascade @ 10 years ago. Worked great. Cool Video

  • Cool can't wait for the that!
