Two small DC motors with offset weights have been attached to a LO pistol, to see if they provide enough movement to the gun to simulate recoil or automatic fire. It seems to work well enough. Possibly a cheap way to add some extra dimension to future gear...

Also featured is a 'real arcade' brand PS1 gun which has a powerful 12V solenoid in it to simulate recoil, nice!

  • dj what about old xbox controllers?they have a large rumble run off aa's can pick broken ones up for nothing

  • It all depends if you can 'feel' it or not :) I'm keen to see what the LTX and the Halo 3 tag gear uses - sounds like a solenoid

  • I like the solenoid version. Looks like there's even enough room for an IR assembly where the tac-light would be. I bet you could make that into a WoW compatible tagger fairly easily. You could make it LTTO compatible, too, if you moved the dome to a hat/helmet or something, and left out the receiver barrel that's used for lock-on and hit confirmation.

  • The solenoid one is great, but needs 12VDC at 1Amp to close it and also they are not readily available like this. Hence looking at a cheap version to add 'some' effect.

  • ive always thought that using magnetic solenoids would be great for recoil. some airsofters have used them to simulate recoil

  • Ill gut a controllor this week, they have a substantial kick.

not so keen to rip into my ltx's lol but they feel very meaty to use and have a nice kick.

ltx has great mdding potential, and good potential to be raped for kit to go towards milestag.the led and kickback could easily be moded to become a slider, or working mg bolt action

  • you need to make it so it vibrated foward and back like a real gun, not side to side.
