@JayEey Yes.. that is well known. The inspiration for Lady Liberty is the Colossus of Rhodes.
Both are "Light bearers".... carrying a torch to light the world, out of the darkness......

Ughh guys collous was destoryed long time ago by king who needed money so it scarped the statue of its bronze and sold it

The statue of liberty is basically a modern day colossus.

@Ennio444 Absolutely incorrect. Ships did not sail through the colossus' legs. It was on land near the shore. The notion of it straddling two land masses with ships sailing underneath is a romantic embellishment. It was shorter than the Statute of Liberty.
