Opening to the live coverage of Channel 4's final match - the 2005 Ashes decider at the Oval.

These titles were used all summer for Ashes cricket (as were the Betfair sponsorship stings, which became rather tiring). Note the introduction of highlights of the previous test at the end of this clip. This was regularly a large proportion of Channel 4's build up - perhaps a sign of cost-cutting?

  • channel 4's cricket was the best ive ever seen and was a real surprise in production, detail, expert views and presention. Not even Sky has yet matched this effort of showing cricket to the nation. Much missed. Heres a short, great example....

  • @madmusician91 hello bro,,,,,,i just wanted to request you that plzzzzzzzzzzz upload the highlights of this whole series and plzzzzzz dont miss the game of freddie flintoff and shane warne ,will u plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Gosh, remember this!

  • @merv721 - "Also, I think they used previous highlights as it was one of the last days of cricket on Channel 4 and to recap the previous test."

Yes indeed they did, CH4 showcased all there Cricket broadcasts from '99 to '04/'05, i wanted to record it myself but my Telewest/Virgin cable STB went down during it, it was the only thing from that series i couldn't record!

I miss Channel 4 Cricket with a passion too!

  • amazing how young that side was. Oldest player is Giles at 32 and only two player over 30. no wonder we all thought that this team would progress to even gretaer things, shame that injuries got in the way - especially for Simon Jones.

  • Any chance you have the videos of Greg David of "We Are Klang" doing the WG Grace impressions? "Come on Aussies!" and "You, Ice Cream Boy! Bowl to Me!"
