ARRRR. I've had three hours sleep. This will do!
Broken hearts... suck. (POST SCRIPT 28/7: BY THE WAY, THANKS FOR YOUR SWEET MESSAGES, I AM ACTUALLY FINE! I WAS JUST REVISITING OLD FEELINGS IN THIS SONG. I HAD THREE HOURS SLEEP THAT NIGHT AS I WAS UP HOLDING MY PARTNERS HEAD OVER A TOILET SEAT... SO I GUESS.... THIS MEANS LOVE??!!? hahah). Oh. I have a mic now. But I haven't figured out how to use it yet. Looking forward to that *hopefully* helping me not to sound like a crinkly old goat in the future.
Oh this song features the word "baby". Which is about as close to pop as I;ll ever get!
On a happier note, Happy Birthday (23rd July) to one of the most beautiful amazing tangible friends I have, Umzi, who is India at the moment. Miss you and love you lots and can't wait til you're back!!! xxoxox
LYRICCCCCSSSS
With promising eyes
And a devlish smile, he looked to the sky,
And said, "I can't buy you diamonds
But God is my jeweller
So pick any star that you'd like"
And he kissed me twice
One for Hello
And the other for Goodbye
Just to seal both sides
Of two lives that could never align
So what's wrong baby?
Did you not forsee that this motion was turning the wheel?
I guess not...
I'm growing tired
Of spinning my words into webs
TRying to leave my footprints in dried cement
To keep from crying.
But this skeletal shape
That my broken heart makes
As it battles to swim
'cross these dams that you've laid
Will gain weight
With patience and courage and faith.
Now it's like a machine
But I can't find the switch
To shut it down
And it grows like a weed
THat strangles the flower
ANd can't be plucked out easily
Yeah he kissed me twice
One for Good Luck
And the other to watch me die
Just to close the blinds
On a gamble that's not worth the while
So what's wrong baby?
Did this love edify you but your blueprint deny you
Your architect?
To tear down these walls
So we could start over again?
I'm growing tired
Of spinning my words into webs
TRying to leave my footprints in dried cement
To keep from crying.
But this skeletal shape
That my broken heart makes
As it battles to swim
'cross these dams that you've laid
Will gain weight
With patience and courage and faith.
i'll just wait
And who needs the stars anyway?

This song gets me every time, and I must have listened to it a 100 times.
