Great video. Thanks for sharing! I miss RI. What rod/reel/lines are you using to fish stripers?
Unplugged704 2 months ago
@Unplugged704 I pretty much only use my Penn Slammer 560 on a St.Croix TIS66HF or a Penn 560 on a 7' Ugly Stik with 50lb Tuf line braid. My brother uses a SHIMANO Charter Special Conventional Reel TR2000LD on a St.Croix Triumph TRM70MHF or a SHIMANO Baitrunner reel.
Thanks for the comment!

@linesiderfix - Going back to RI to visit family in May.. hopefully I'll get the change to go striper fishing. May is probably the best time to go. Are you a guide?

@Unplugged704 No, im not a guide, just a guy who LOVES fishing!
Mid to late may you should do just fine.. Don't forget your saltwater fishing license. you can purchase one online... Tight lines!!

when is the best time to fish for stripers in the providence river? what is the best bait?
Holyjtizzle123 11 months ago
@Holyjtizzle123 @Holyjtizzle123 The best time to fish for striper in the Providence River would be whenever the menhaden (a.k.a. pogey, bunker, or fatback) enter the bay - usually around mothers day it starts heating up. The striper usually hang around for a couple months until the water temps get to warm. Then they head for cooler water. Best bait would be live pogey. if you don't have access to live pogey try chunking.
