Santa Pod Thunderball Dragsters top fuel jet car bigfoot etc

Santa Pod Easter Thunderball, 26 March 2005 Santa Pod, UK. A superb event with top fuel dragsters, funny cars, drag bikes, jet cars, jet bikes, a jet quad, a jet beetle, bigfoot monster trucks, etc. I put together this movie to give a flavour of the quarter mile at Santa Pod. It's a bit repetative at the beginning but stick with it, it gets better. Honest! Filmed on widescreen but I messed up the transfer so it looks abit squeezed. I'll sort it out another time. ps nothin' crash today.

Fond memories of, "The Pod. I lived some 10 miles from there and drag race weekends if no roundy roundy at Silverstone it was Pod day. 1970's where has time gone ?

Back in the middle 60's I had an English penpal (I lived in SoCal) who loved drag racing. His name was Henry Morris (he would be about 60 now) who actually got me a subscription to the only British drag racing magazine of the time. When Santa Pod opened up it was such a big deal to Henry and I loved hearing his stories about British drag racing at that time. Of course, at that time, there wasn't a huge selection of British cars but I'd also send pix & stories about Lions, OCIR and Irwindale.
